Introductory Message

This is a message we are sending to students and organisations that have not heard of the Bluebuck Network yet. The first official newsletter will be following shortly.

Do you know any students, youth or organisations involved or interested in environmental issues? If so please can you pass this message onto them.

At the end of this year South Africa hosts important UN Climate Change negotiations (called COP17) in Durban. It has been described by some as the "world cup of environmentalism" and is amazing opportunity for us to link up and work together.

Over the weekend of the 15th-17th of July students and youth from around Southern Africa met in Grahamstown to do just that, and officially launched the Bluebuck Network.

What is the Bluebuck Network?
-Its a student focussed umbrella body for organisations involved in environmental and sustainability work.

Who can be part of the Bluebuck Network
- Any organisation that involves students and sustainability/environmental work.

What will the Bluebuck Network do?
- The network will help students involed in sustainability work share resources and knowledge

- Encourage, and make it easier to cooperate.
- Keep everyone informed of exciting events and opportunities
- Help with international representation and cooperation

In particular we want to help everyone get the most out the opportunities from COP17.

We hope to be working with you soon.
